Uncle Henry's

Uncle Henry’s Farm Shop & café Complex which incorporates conference rooms was originally formed out of a set of redundant 19th Century Farms buildings at Grayingham Grange. The original conversion of the farm buildings received a Rural Buildings Award in 2007.

The business thrived over a 3 year period leading to a requirement for additional shop & café space together with the formation of a new butchery. Planning was obtained to convert further attached redundant traditional cart shed farm buildings into the shop extension, butcher department & the extension allowed the formation of a larger café area.

Works to this project it was imperative that the original agricultural design was maintained & the utilisation of existing features would aid the transition between the existing conversion & new facilities. Changes in levels between the buildings made conversion more complex to ensure access for all was achieved. Timber & glazed infill panels have been used between the original cast iron cart shed post & kingpost trusses were retained internally with insulation provided at rafter level to provide the open feel to the shop. The extension brought life back into redundant buildings on the site, with this we achieved the goals & expectations of not only our clients but their customers also, who had given positive feedback who infuse about this picturesque farmstead & award winning modern stylish café & farm shop complex.
